  我是先读该系列的第三部《夺命的冷漠》再来读的这本书，可以说，这本书在小说的叙事和经济学指知识的讲解中都比第三部好很多，而且本书讨论的经济学思想大部分是通过哈佛的几位教授在辩论中一点点凸显出来的，使得该书的流畅性和趣味性大幅增加。嗯，是我的菜。

  在经济学的知识中，本书主要讨论了如下几个内容：

  从信息经济学中搜寻信息的成本与收益来分析劳动力市场中的自愿性失业的现象。

  通过搜寻成本来讨论不同商品价格多样化的关系。

  通过教授为注册会计师辩护的案件来讨论机会成本的含义。

  讨论在消费者偏好不同的前提下使得消费者效用达到最高是否存在一个最优的品牌数目。

  以心理学家、犯罪学家对于人性复杂的理解来诘问经济学中“人们期望效用最大化”这一假设是否合理。

  最后一个话题是我最感兴趣的内容，因为我的boss也曾就经济学“看似可笑的假设”来试图向我证明，之所以经济学没有按照客观的实际来讨论人们的决策，是因为这样的假设使得分析和预测“最实用”，同时，我们并没有人们具有复杂的动机等等其他的假设条件，是因为其他的假设条件是没有讨论价值的。经济和金融学用极为“过分”的假设来阐述理论，比如，mm定理，是为了能够把有效的理论阐述清楚，方便预测。

  在推理小说的线索上，本书采用了时间上的插叙手法。开门见山的暗示我们年轻的教授死了，而在后面慢慢补充相关事实，这让我兴味盎然，自己来过过侦探瘾，希望能从委员会的不同成员中找到杀人的蛛丝马迹。

  至于何来厚重和灵巧的思辨，这就是我读书之后的感觉。

• 书不错，翻译待改进

  《梵蒂冈圣骨案》是现代通俗冒险小说，非我的兴趣之所在，读它是为了充分把握国外俗文学的最新进展，先调查而後有发言权。中产阶级每日奔走忙禄，尘虑萦心，这种专在情节上下工夫、不重艺术性的冒险小说，适合他们的口味。看美国的通俗小说，比看国內的好，国內作者的构思尚不敌美国同行精巧，且有大批流行小说作者一味迎合市场，作品中的道德没有节制。

  只恨翻译太差劲，译者没有掌握基本的西欧中古史常识，译名混乱，而中世纪是作品中最重要的背景。中世纪的国王和名教士，汉译有约定俗成的固定译名，不同于今天流行的译法，如译者把君士坦丁大帝译作康斯坦丁，而他的城市仍译为君士坦丁堡，此错误太明显，稍留心点校读就可发现。观此译者，尚是中国翻译美国通俗小说的名译家，馀者可想而知
