Kettl, a University of Wisconsin public affairs professor, aims in this fast, accessible read to uncover "the leadership ideas and methods of America's 43rd president." In the process, he finds George W. Bush's most striking accomplishment to be that he "has consistently exceeded expectations." Kettl describes a president of average intellect with one saving grace: the ability to assemble, unify and lead a highly qualified management team that analyzes complex problems and solutions, thus enabling Bush to make effective decisions. Kettl attributes Bush's team-building skills to his easygoing style; his insistence that his staff be punctual, concise and professionally attired; and his education as "the nation's first MBA president." There are stimulating ideas, such as tips on creating and using political capital, aligning the structure of staff to personal strengths, and crafting and delivering effective messages. As with most lesson books, however, the ideas lose their impact and originality when summarized, e.g., "Develop a plan-and stick to it" and "Don't fight battles you can't win." Kettl draws these lessons almost exclusively from media reportage; while he serves on an advisory panel to the White House's Office of Management and Budget, there's no promise of insider information. Bush's ability to lead is certainly a compelling topic, but perhaps because we are only two years into a presidency filled with controversy and challenge, the book lacks any depth of research or perspective.

  想必看了上面这个视频的人，必定会因这天降厄运而不寒而栗，毕竟谁曾料想到，行驶在自己周围的大货车会突然轮胎脱落，并置人于死地。而池井户润《飞上天空的轮胎》一书，正是基于这样的事件创作出来的作品。

  

  赤松货运的司机所驾驶的拖挂车以法定限速四十公里的时速行驶的途中，前方左侧的轮胎突然脱落，随后撞向了正巧走在人行道上的家庭主妇并致其死亡。起初身为社长的赤松以为是维修不当造成的，然而实际情况却并非如此，他渐渐地意识到，这或许是因为货车本身存在设计缺陷，才导致了事故的发生。

  然而这件事光赤松货运的人清楚可不行，毕竟外界所获取的信息是：由于赤松货运维修不当，导致了事故的发生，并且“维修不当”这一原因还是由汽车制造公司希望汽车证实的。相比前者没有证据的自说自话，被誉为“权威机构”的后者发布的鉴定结果自然更具有说服力，于是身为社长的赤松为了生存，不得不走上自证清白的道路。

  这一过程可谓困难重重，麻烦事接踵而来。姑且不论巨大舆论压力所带来的冲击，主要客户断绝来往、主力银行拒绝融资、警方搜查所带来的嫌疑人名号、与希望汽车就取回零件不断周旋、受害者家属要求高额赔偿，以及发生在孩子身上的窃案风波，皆是让人一个头两个大的烦心事，并且毫不客气地全部压在了这个叫赤松德郎的男人身上，如同背负了过多货物的骆驼，让人不由得担心哪根稻草将成为压死他的最后一个。

  事实上，面对这样的人生困境，几乎快要撑不下去的赤松也有考虑过自杀，借此来将自己解放出来，只不过他最终没有走上这条路，只因为有太多人需要守候——自己的妻儿、不离不弃的员工、始终不明真相的受害者家属。

  而这其间，除了收到来自家人和同事无条件的支持和鼓励外，更重要的是，许多陌生人也对他伸出了援手。为他提供了相关事件信息的《周刊潮流》记者榎本，为他提供外包业务填补经济空缺的儿玉运输社长，以及不仅成功提供融资、并将其所有债务全部转移到自己名下的榛名银行蒲田分行——他们的出现不仅使原本看似无望的未来出现了转机，更重要的是它让赤松相信，这个世界上仍然存在着不畏强权、愿意相信自己并支持自己的社会力量存在。

  当然，即便是在希望集团内部，也有充满良知的人物存在。无论是有个人主见的技术男杉本，还是不趋炎附势的银行职员井崎，都展现出了小人物在面对强大团体压力时的反抗与坚持，即便是始终打着自己小算盘的泽田，也有其自身积极的一面。

  

  虽说在小说的最后，赤松通过一系列的努力逆风翻盘，是可想而知的结果，但池井户润并未将本作写成前半部各种人生不幸、后半部各种平步青云的作品，而是巧妙地将各种希望与绝望糅合在一起，使得读者能不断感受赤松在二者之间拉锯的悲喜感，并借由不断出现的问题与变数牢牢地抓住读者。

  当然，为了营造出这种效果，书中的人物常会有意无意地跟对手“嘚瑟”一番，似乎只是为了给对方一个下马威，却完全没有考虑对方得知消息后可能的行动。倒是警方行动时的那句建议挺在理的——“如果想揪出希望汽车的小辫子，就不能打草惊蛇，让对手失去戒心才是上策。”只可惜他们的行动太慢，虽没有“打草惊蛇”，但也错失了最佳收集证据的时机。

  《飞上天空的轮胎》一书虽长达六百多页——它无疑是池井户润引进大陆的作品中最厚的一本——但这丝毫不影响读者产生一口气将其读完的冲动，毕竟池井户润的作品有其特有的优势：

  首先，虽说为了展现专业性，书中必会提及一些人们不熟悉的行业术语和行业问题——例如本书中便涉及了汽车制造、银行融资等内容，但他往往只是点到为止，绝不有意拓展炫学，因而读者绝不会因视行业小说而苦恼；

  其次，正如前面所言，他通过巧妙地安排困境与转机，也使得整部作品整体呈现出一种极佳的节奏感，既不会显得拖沓，又不会因剧情变化太快显得过于唐突，最终所形成的阅读体验自然也很不错；

  再者，人物的塑造方面可圈可点，无论是主要人物和次要人物，都具有自己的个性特点，给人留下深刻的印象。同时，作者有意避开同一场景出现过多人物的情况，有效地避免了读者记混人名的情况。

  《飞上天空的轮胎》一书虽涉及人物众多，但文治特意制作的“主要登场人物表”无疑帮了很大忙，有助于读者分多次阅读本书时迅速确定出场人物及回忆之前的剧情。

  最后，由于池井户润的作品常常讲述的是主人公在困境中挣扎、逆风翻盘的故事，因而免不了会涉及一些类似心灵鸡汤的感悟，不过这些内容往往依情节需要而出现，并以主人公内心独白的形式呈现，因而与故事的融合度非常好，完全看不出作者借机说教的意味。

  相比此前很火的《半泽直树》系列，《飞上天空的轮胎》一书也有其自身的优势。

  其一，相比前者主要局限在银行及相关领域，本作的涉及范围更加广泛，汽车制造公司、运输行业、警局、杂志社、学校的相关情况均有所展现，这无疑使得内容更加多元；

  其二，本书在情感的刻画上更为深入，相比极具精英气质的半泽直树，本作中涉及的人物更加普通，在情感的表达方面也更加直白，特别是在相关剧情的铺垫下，人物的喜怒哀乐借由文字传递出来，使读者也能感同身受。

  毫无疑问，《飞上天空的轮胎》是一部不同以往的作品，所以千万不要因为它的厚度而畏惧，因为这本书最终带给你的将是一份畅读的惊喜。

  对我这个对华为不怎么了解的人来说，这本书还是有用的。使得对华为的创建历史和任爸爸都有了一些了解，低调但是真的很强大。中国能有这么一个企业，感到由衷的自豪。

  很喜欢任爸爸的这句话“以前的时候特别害怕失去，不管是物质还是感情，后来经历得多了，钱没过，也被人孤立和离弃过，渐渐地学会了独撑和豁达。如今再也不担心谁会走，再也不担心会变穷，因为知道失去的自己依然可以再挣回来。对自己有信心，就是最大的安全感，无须外物来证实和陪衬”。
