  这本书图文并茂，还是很好的，但，编排按照拼音顺序就不太满意。如果能按照六书排序，更能体现汉字造字的结构，而且，象形字多是简单结构，孩子们理解更容易。哪怕做个此种分类的目录也好啊。

  很有趣的一本书，创意非常好，当小蓝和小黄混合成小绿的时候，两边的爸爸、妈妈都不认识自己的孩子了，两个孩子伤心地哭起来了，直到哭成碎片的小蓝和小黄，最终又合并成两个单独的小蓝和小黄的时候，两个孩子重新被自己的爸妈接受，这两个孩子才破涕为笑，通过有趣的故事，宝宝了解到了颜色变化的魅力。

  The Lies of Locke Lamora is the first entry in Scott Lynch’s Gentleman Bastard series. The first three books are out of a seven book planned series. Before reading this book, I have heard quite a lot great things about here, on Goodreads, BookTube and BookTwitter, with lots of people seemingly placing this series in their top ten. I’m not at that stage just yet, although I did really enjoy this first instalment. If, say, I had read this book last year, then, this book would be a solid five star, no doubt since that was what I basically gave to every single epic fantasy book out there. Now that I have been writing book reviews for almost a year now which has forced me to read much more critically, I have to lower it down a star to four.

  As many people have ranted about everywhere, the setting and the way that Lynch describes it is absolutely phenomenal and is definitely one of the strongest points of the novel. I have also had it pointed out that the map also suits the book very well and I agree wholeheartedly. It really gives you a sense of back alleys and betrayals and layer upon layers of scheming which I loved. Due to this setting, much of the book did not really feel much like epic fantasy, after all, everything is so solely focused on crime, revenge and thievery and that this book is set only in the city of Camorr. Now, to be fair, without Bondsmages and mentions of other weird stuff, this book could have totally not been fantasy at all, which is hardly a bad thing but adding in fantastical elements made it so much more entertaining.

  I thought that the characters were quite well written and the different relationships they had between each other was amazing. From little Bug to the cunning Locke, there is a character for everyone to love and enjoy. There were certain that took me by surprise that resulted in quite a sad reader, though I felt that I was not upset enough but more shocked at certain things, which may have well been the author’s intent.

  Something to point out is that there are a lot of interludes, like, that there is one in between every single chapter that focuses on backstory, which while builds the character, felt sort of irrelevant at times compared to the overarching plot as it had nothing to do with it. The only things that readers would pick up from reading the lengthy interludes is learning more about the characters but does not a whole lot for furthering the plot.

  Now this is just me nitpicking and now that I have finished the book I get the reason why this was set up, but for the first two hundred odd pages, while being so much fun to read, it did not really give a reader a sense of why this was happening other than the author saying it is. Like I said, I have finished the book and now really savour those early moments, but it was something that I had noted early on when I was reading the book.

  For the most part, this book was so much fun and at one point I even laughed out loud, which frankly, is rare when I’m reading epic fantasy, so that was very nice for a change. There are so many layers of plotting from different characters and schemes that makes it all the more thrilling and compelling to continue reading what does happen next. Thoroughly enjoyed myself on this one, would recommend. 8/10
