  This book showed the major aspects of consulting business. Very clear, very useful, very specific and hand-on information.

  1 How to find and approach your client?

  First, it's about marketing, you need to design a logo, a website, a name card and whatever you needed. Think about the scale, the objective, and measurement about the target, make it clear about the process and fees, make it clear about the disengagement process. Be really able to understand the business, market and selling, revenue and management for sure. Analysis all the information, try to persuade the clients about the objective, the value, and the management of the process.

  Also, it's all about mentain the relationship, make cold calls, talk about the perspectives and try your best to actively network with people, not do it with a group, do it one on one, to make your objective clear and brief. And follow up, always keep the record as long as the relationship keeps going.

  2 About your personal management,

  Be aware that your reputation is everything, always be careful about your personal representation, make it reflects your professionality and expertise. Try to learn how to travel better and more comfortable and work more proficiently. Alwasy listen better, always remember conversation is better than reports.

  Writing is one of most essential skills, you have to learn. The target is about to write a 5 pages article in 1/2 hours. Make it well structured, includes titiles subtitles, 20 pages for 5 major points and support your points by solid evidence. Always keep in mind you are writing for the clients rather, do not try to write everything you know, no heavy footnotes or reference, it's not a scientic or academic thing. Have a strong and inspring conclution that could call for action. Also learn the skills to write business letters as earily as possible, write a book would be a super credential for boost your career.

  Really keep updated with informations, do your homework and business reading regularly, about management, marketing, legal thing, accounting.. also learn to protect your personal assets.

  It's also about the project, what's the target, learn the meeting preparation and logistic thing as soon as you can. Gather information that might be helpful and think about how to take advantages of network, try to bring some people you know that could help you out.

  Interview could be really labor-intensive work, you need to learn how to do it effectively and efficiently, learn to manage a group of people, learn how to earn their trust, and how to encourage them to speak, to facilitate the process and try to reduce the anger and frustration. No harsh feeling, no blaming.
