Charles Kuralt, who worked for CBS News for thirty-seven years, won many honors for his "on the road" journalism as well as his work on Sunday Morning. He was the author of several bestselling books, including On the Road with Charles Kuralt, A Life on the Road, and Charles Kuralt's America. He died on Independence Day, 1997.
