  　　通过张曼玉，我们会发现，有些歌不是用来听的，而是用来看的。因为，她唱得实在不好听。

  　　不要小看烂片。在香港，烂片都需要一个知名度高，光看脸就会有票房号召力的花瓶，而且要物美价廉听话又肯捱（吃苦）。1984年,张国荣与张曼玉合作香港电影《缘分》，最初定的男主角不是荣少，制片方考虑到片酬能减少四倍才考虑了张国荣。女主角定位仅仅是花瓶，因为张曼玉刚获得“香港小姐”的身份，才让她来扮演一个今日看来有些绿茶气质的角色。在那部戏里，她婴儿肥，牙齿不齐，涂着粉色的腮红和粉嫩的口红，或是皱眉嘟嘴，或是放声大笑，除了一脸迷死人的胶原蛋白，你看不到她有任何演技的存在。但是青春之美是无敌的。剧情又是简简单单的少男少女谈恋爱，中间插个电灯泡——爱我的人为我付出一切，我却为我爱的人流泪狂乱心碎。所以白纸一张的她反而衬托出了梅艳芳炉火纯青的功力，梅姐凭借此片获得金像奖最佳女配角。

  　　她呆呆地看着，无奈何。大家公认她很漂亮。连亦舒都说她：“模样好，白晰得离奇，一头好头发，小小眼睛，厚肿小嘴巴，体格无瑕可击，笑起来如纯洁兔宝宝，无论穿什么戴什么古怪东西，仍然可爱活泼。”甚至放言：“我不管她会不会演戏，只要她走出来，我就要看”。于是她只能在各部电影里装傻充愣、蹦蹦跳跳，或者哭哭闹闹、疯疯癫癫。比如大众熟悉的《警察故事》，她在其中扮演成龙的固定女友，从第一部到第三部，除了增多些搞笑内容，涉入了一些摔打场面：与匪徒搏斗时从十几级的楼梯上骨碌碌地滚下来，骑摩托车要么被成龙揪着领子拽摔倒，要么一头撞到私家车上面……她吃尽了苦，头上摔出的伤缝了十七针，依然让内行人一眼看穿她没有什么表演方面的进步。

  　　直到她有幸参演了由亦舒同名小说改编的电影《流金岁月》，她与钟楚红，蒋南孙和朱锁锁，戏里戏外合为一体。她们一起站在金色的太阳雨里，短发垂耳，裙裾洁白，笑颜如花，点亮了十七岁的夏天。观众方才发现，张曼玉竟然可以在少年时代与青年时代甚至成年时代无缝切换，她的眼神亦可从天真到忧郁到嫉妒到坚毅到成熟随意流转。张曼玉渐渐变得有味道了。起码她懂得塑造一个美丽却不自知的女孩，浓眉厚发纤腰长腿，能把白衬衫卡其裤穿出无人匹及的帅气范，宛如她在感情上始终坚持尊严第一，洒脱第二，要么Nothing要么All，颇有香港新时代白领女性的风格。导演们方才发现，张曼玉是可以挑战文艺片的。首先察觉到的是王家卫。他请张曼玉参演了他第一部也是唯一一部有剧本的电影《旺角卡门》。在那部戏里，她叫阿娥，一个每逢人前就用口罩遮脸的自闭女子，因为爱上了一个不该爱的古惑仔，学会了抽烟，学会了化妆，学会了含蓄而又勇敢地示爱：“厨房里有煮好的饭，另外我还买了几个杯子，我知道，用不了多久就都会被打破，所以我偷偷藏起了一个，到有一天你需要那个杯子的时候，就打一个电话给我，我会告诉你放在什么地方。”这部戏使得她被众人惊艳，因为低眉顺眼、默默无闻、小心翼翼又深情款款的女孩正是身边很多平凡女生的写照。甚至连刘德华都说他心目中最理想的女性就是《旺角卡门》里的张曼玉。

  慕名而来，三天看完。作者饱满情绪流露于每个字里行间，同时像有人所说，作者真是位善人，三观正，男人丰神俊朗，正气凛然；女人柔情似水，外柔内刚，真是一对金童玉女。

  在当下京剧已不再是主流的大环境下，带领小读者们一起穿越那个世界，感受北平戏园子的全景风貌，好景，好人，好吃的。

  说说美中不足：文风是个人喜好问题，个人不太喜欢过于口语化的文字，有些地方点到为止即可，作者有些过分渲染，流情于外，尤其结尾部分，不如言简意赅，给读者更多遐想空间；其次，反派塑造有些脸谱化，毫无动机，纯粹为男女主而设，比如焦得利、林郁苍等人。至于玄青这个人物，完全可以多花些笔墨去刻画，成为一个与男主势均力敌的出彩反派形象，将他前后心里过程转变写得更细腻些，包括他与殷绣帘的爱情。作者的初衷是写好一个京剧故事，不如用全景式将更多人物勾勒得更为有血有肉，使人印象深刻。

  全书最喜欢师父白喜祥，他的结局真令人出乎意料。
