“蜘蛛话也说得多。你可能想不到，可蜘蛛是最惊人的叽里哇啦大王。在织网的时候，它们一直唱个不停。它们唱起来比夜莺唱得还甜，甜多了。”

“你还听到什么声音呢？”索菲问道

“是很普通的动物”好心眼儿巨人用看不起她的口气说，“我自己不是一个无所不知的巨人，可在我看来，你是一个百分之一百一无所知的人豆子。你那个脑袋瓜里全是些棉花”

“我妈妈！”好心眼儿巨人叫起来，“巨人没有妈妈！你应该知道这一点”

“我不知道”索菲说

“谁听说过有女巨人的！”好心眼儿巨人叫着，把那大鼻子瓜在头顶上旋转得像各套索，“从来没有过一个女巨人！也永远不会有。巨人都是男的！”

索菲觉得有点糊涂。“那么”她说，“你是怎么生出来的呢？”

“巨人不是生出来的”好心眼儿巨人回答说，“巨人是冒出来的，就这么回事。他们只是冒出来，跟太阳和星星冒出来一样”

“对，可它们不杀自己的同类”好心眼儿巨人说，“只有人豆子这种动物杀自己的同类”

“毒蛇不你杀我我杀你吗？”索菲问道。她挖空心思，要找出一种和人一样行为丑恶的动物

“毒蛇也不自相残杀”好心眼儿巨人说，“最凶猛的动物像老虎和犀牛也不。它们没有一种曾经杀死过自己的同类。这一点你曾想到过吗？”

索菲保持沉默

“我一点儿也不明白人豆子”好心眼儿巨人说，“你是一个人豆子，口口声声说巨人吃人豆子是可恨的、可怕的，对不对？”

“对”索菲说

“可人豆子一直在自相残杀”好心眼儿巨人说，“他们开枪，坐飞机在对方的头顶上扔炸弹，每个星期都有不少。人豆子老是杀死人豆子”

他是对的。他当然是对的，索菲知道。她开始考虑人是不是真比巨人好一点儿。“即使这样”她为人类辩护说，“我还是认为，那些该死的巨人每天晚上去吃人类是卑劣的，人...

Every human bean is didly and different. Some is scrumdiddlylyumptious and some is uckyslush. Greeks is all full of uckyslush. No giant is eating Greeks,ever.

Why not? Sophie asked.

Greeks from Greece is all tasting greasy, the giant said.

I is a very mixed up Giant, the Giant said. But I does do my best.

Nice dreams. Lovely golden dreams. Dreams that is giving the dreamers a happy time.

A dream isn’t something you can catch hold of.

Dreams, he said, is very mysterious things. The is floating around in the air like little wispy-misty bubbles. And all the time they is searching for sleeping people.

Can you see them? Sophei asked.

Not at first.

A dream, he said, as it goes whiffing through the night air, is making a tiny little buzzy-humming noise. But this little buzzy-hum is so silvery sof...

But you told me dreams were invisible.

They is always invisible until they is captured, the BFG told her. After that they is losing a little of their invisibility.

Inside the jar Sophie could see the faint scarlet outline of something that looked like a mixture between a blob of gas and a bubble of jelly. It was moving violently, thrashing against the sides of the jar and forever changing shape.

It was wiggling all over the place! Sophie cried. It’s fighting to get out! It’ll bash itself to bits!

The nastier the dream, the angrier it is getting when it is in prison, the BFG said. It is the same as with wild animals.

A human bean who says he is fifty is not fifty, he is only thirty.

Every dream is having its special label on the bottle, the BFG said. How else could I be finding the one I am wanting in a hurry?

It’s moving! Sophie cried. It’s alive!

Of course it’s alive.

What will you feed it on? Sophie asked.

It’s not needing any food, the BFG told her.

That’s cruel, Sophie said. Everything alive needs food of some sort. Even trees and plants.

A dream is not needing anything, the BFG went on. If it is a good one, it is waiting peaceably for ever until it is released and allowed to do its job. If it is a bad one, it is always fighting to get out.

Grown-up human beans is not famous for their kindness. They is all squifflerotters and grinksludgers.

Dreams is lots of fun but nobody is believing in dreams either. You is only believing in a dream while you is actually dream...

索菲睡不着。

很亮的月光从窗帘上的一条小缝斜斜地照进来，正好照在她的枕头上。

宿舍里，其他孩子好几个钟头以前就睡着了。

索菲闭上眼睛，躺在那里一动不动。她拼了命要睡着。

没有用。月光在房间里像把银刀那样切下来，正好落在她的脸上。

整座房子绝对安静。楼下没有一点儿声音传上来。头顶上的一层也没有脚步走动的声音。

窗帘后面，窗子是敞开着的，可是外面人行道上没有人在走路。街道上没有汽车开过。四面八方，哪里都没有一丁点儿声音。索菲从来不知道会静成这个样子。

她心里说：也许这就是人们说的巫师出没时刻吧。

巫师出没时刻，有人悄悄地对她说过，是半夜三更一个特别的时刻，这时候，孩子、大人个个睡得死死沉沉，所有巫公巫婆、精灵鬼怪从他们隐藏的地方出来，整个世界就是他们的了。

在银色的月光里，熟悉的街道好像完全变了样。房屋全都又斜又歪，童话故事里的房子就是那样的。什么东西都那么苍白，都是乳白色的，充满了鬼气。

她看到路对面兰斯太太那家店，是卖纽扣、毛线和松紧带等等小玩意儿的。这家店这会儿不像是真的，看上去那么朦朦胧胧、模模糊糊。

《好心眼儿巨人》（The BFG by Roald Dahl）

发表于1982年，达尔66岁。

1982年获英国儿童图书奖。1984年获德国青少年文学奖。1986年获世界图书挪威语版和德国语版青少年奖。1997年收入“过去二十年最佳图书”的好书指南一列。

达尔鼓励孩子冒险，想方设法刺激孩子们的想像力，给孩子讲故事。有一天晚上，他照常跟两个女儿讲睡前故事。他讲到有一种神奇的粉末，可以用一根长长的吹管吹进卧室，在人睡着的时能对大脑产生奇迹！两个女儿追问：“它们是怎么做到的？谁把它们从窗口吹进来的？”他解释了几句，道了声晚安，就匆匆下楼了。过了一会儿，当灯光熄灭，女儿们几乎睡着时，她们卧室的窗外突然有动静。她们睁开眼睛，在黑暗中看见一根长竿从窗帘之间伸了进来，外面一个人正在大声地吹气。这个家伙就是她们的爸爸——罗尔德·达尔。 正是这个恶作剧导致了《好心眼儿巨人》的诞生。

《好心眼儿巨人》是对传统童话中巨人形象的颠覆。在达尔的笔下，好心眼儿巨人具有人类最美好的特质：善良、好学、爱心、平和等等

  也不知道是因为在翻译中少了乐趣，还是趣味的原因。始终没有觉得这个故事讲的特别好啊。反倒是暗喻了人与人之间的欺凌与歧视，背叛和孤儿的惨境，对老师的憎恨这些元素，看着很不舒服。结尾自喻好心眼儿巨人那里，让人觉得作者就是从饱受欺凌的小朋友长大的啊。我是不是因为读者视角太成人了觉得这故事太不阳光。然后想起其实格林童话，安徒生童话背后都特别凄凉和黑暗，也就觉得还好啦。

  在我还很幼齿的年纪一本让我满怀激情的书。在我不知的情况下形成了如今价值观人生观的书。虽然借给LS之后再也没还回来。真的谢谢它。

  In a silent night, a colossal hand with fingers as thick as tree-trunk snatched Sophie with her bed blanket. It appears to be a giant. This can the most terrifying thing happened in the middle of the night one can hear of. And our protagonist, Sophie, had the faintest idea where she will be brought to. And when they stopped, Sophie learned that she was in the land of giants. Lucky for Sophie, the giant who kidnapped (of a sort) her is not like any other foul and horrid giants who have a penchant for human flesh, especially childders. This giant is a big friendly giant (BFG) who would rather eat disgusting snozzcumbers than human beans. The giant standing in front of Sophie also has the ability to instill and inject dreams into anybody. Sophie also witnessed how he shoot the magical and fearsome dream dust into other giants with his pipe, which caused a turmoil.

  Being equipped with all the information above, our protagonist, Sophie, hatched a clever plan to prevent cruelty from happening again. She decided to come to the Queen to seek help. So next stop, Buckingham Palace! With the help of the dream that is carefully constructed by the BFG, the Queen believed Sophie’s story. And the troop with a special mission was immediately summoned. Since the total quantity of giants is only ten and they were not that hard to deal with, they were soon captured and could only eat disgusting snozzcumber forever(giants are immortal).

  Although it’s not short, I still managed to devour the story. I would say it’s gripping, cute, and heart-warming. Some plots can be really hilarious. One thing that can make my inner adult grumpy is Mr. BFG’s poor English hhh. Since he was not well educated, Mr. BFG could make countless grammar and vocabulary mistakes. But we know people are malleable, Mr. BFG finally managed to learn good English with his best tutor, Sophie. (comforting for us language learners) One thing designed by Roald Dahl can prove this fact is that the book, The BFG, is actually created by our Mr. BFG.(Dahl loves to make such an ending hhh)

  我不喜欢这个版本的翻译，我喜欢90年代系列丛书的那个翻译《巨人好心肠》，要比这个版本的好很多。这个小说是我喜欢最久的一本书，也看了好多遍，直到现在我还是很喜欢。梦是可以捕捉的，是可以创造的，你做梦是因为在你睡觉的时候，有个人拿着大大的喇叭从你卧室的窗口把梦吹给你。想象力多么丰富和美好啊……
