    最近看了余松佳和戴夫·博斯合著的《经典优势:品牌战略管理与核心价值打造》。

    与之前空洞无聊的奶酪系列国外畅销书不同,这本书更加注重的是实际操作,颇值得从事商业的朋友一读。非商业界的朋友,其实也可以从中得到很多借鉴,因为打造个人品牌和打造商业品牌在某些方面是相通的。

    一、什么是经典优势?

    首先问大家一个问题:在衣服款式更新换代越来越快潮流瞬间变幻的现在,在一件衣服穿不了一季就被新款替代的当下,假如你是一位服装生产商,你还会生产可以耐穿几年的衣服吗?

    其实这里涉及到的问题是:生产快消品好,还是生产耐用品好?在现代网络加快了生活节奏之后,在每天都有大量照片、视频产生的现在,似乎很多人都倾向于选择新颖、新潮、新奇的款式,试图赶上潮流甚至走在潮流前面,很少有人打算买一件衣服穿好几年的。这么一看,似乎生产快消品更好。

    但你是否想过,当你去买衣服的时候,你是首先想到去几个品牌的店里看看有什么当季新款式呢,还是随机刷新看到什么买什么(没有明确购买目的的随机浏览除外)?而假如你的产品没有品牌影响力,只是追求款式新奇的时候,你觉得它们容易卖出去吗,能卖得出好价格吗?追求新奇快,看似简单成本少,但是你的对手将会无限多,你的新款式将会瞬间被抄袭(假如你是原创的),你的优势最多能维持三天时间。

    而唯有铸就了自己的品牌,你的优势才能持久。因为,品牌所具有的优势,就是经典优势。品牌,是一个综合概念,是个人对一家企业及其产品和服务的体验与观念的总和。而经典优势,并非简单的品牌化设计,而是一种战略,这种战略专注于建立长久的品牌差异和品牌关联性。

    二、经典优势能够带来什么?

    打造经典优势的目的,就是赋予你的产品更多的机会,使之成为目标用户的原型产品。经典优势的作用归纳起来有以下几点:

    一是降低营销成本。

    经典品牌之所以能够脱颖而出,关键就在于它的差异化,而经典优势战略扩大了这种差异化,更能赢得消费者的关注。如前文所说,当人们在考虑购买某类产品的时候,脑子里首先跳出来的,是你的产品,那么你就成功了。因为,这表示在用户的认知中,你的产品是这类商品中的经典品牌。所以,经典优势是最强大的品牌推广形式。

    二是提高产品销量。

    经典优势的一个重要作用,就是“让购买决定变得轻松”。当你的产品能够经常出现在消费者的脑海中,销量自然不会差。而且,经典优势不仅仅是让你的产品去迎合用户的需求,而是会引导用户产生新的需求。

    三是增加用户黏性。

    为什么很多人宁可省吃俭用,也要用几个月的薪水去买奢侈品?因为除了物质需求之外,人还有心理需求。而经典更能够满足这种心理需求,带来不一样的体验感和归属感。所以,经典优势能够使企业从激烈的行业竞争中脱颖而出,与用户建立更强、更紧密的情感联系。

    其实,以上这些作用并非孤立的,而是相互交织在一起。比如,用户黏性增加了,产品的销量自然就提高了,而相应的成本也就相应降低了。

    三、怎样打造经典优势?

    经典优势是一种复合效应,需要经过一段时间的积累沉淀和不懈努力才会见效。经典优势有三个构成特性:瞩目力、持续力和扩展力。这三个特性,其实也就是打造经典优势的三个主要抓手。

    一是创建品牌瞩目力。

    现代社会商品极大丰富且同质化严重,要想让消费者注意到你的产品,你就必须要让你的产品有吸引消费者眼光的独特之处。这就是品牌瞩目力。说白了,就是怎样让消费者一眼就看到你的产品。

    率先将一种新产品推向市场,是打造瞩目力的最佳方式之一。但是,第一,这需要你有足够的研发能力,否则你不可能一直出新;第二,市场跟风能力很强,你的“新”并维持不了多久。所以,你更需要定义你的招牌元素。

    这些元素必须与众不同、与用户相关、具有影响力,能够吸引用户的眼球,抓住用户的心。比如,特别的名称、特别的造型、特别的感官刺激、特别的营销方式、特别的产品故事……

    二是培养品牌持续力。

    瞩目力只是品牌最基础的部分,也是相对而言比较容易做到的部分。有了瞩目力之后,能持续吸引市场的关注,才是最难的,这就需要持续力了。

    所谓品牌持续力,指的是随着时间的推移, 该品牌仍然能够保持并增强它的优势。为什么大家都愿意相信百年老店?这就是品牌持续力的作用。

    要保持品牌的持续力,关键是要建立起品牌与客户之间的关联性。最简单有效的手段就是“推陈出新”。为什么越是世界大牌,广告做得越多,代言人都是最火的明星球星?这就是“推陈”,老品牌也要常常亮相。而且不管有没有新品上市,老品牌会经常推出新代言人,或者用老代言人拍出新广告,这就是“推新”。

    在推陈出新的同时,那些明星球星还会告诉你,我这样,你也可以这样。广告词中特别突出你,就是为了和你建立关联性。而持续的关联性会逐渐建立起有意义的联系,以至于你喝某个品牌的可乐时,并不是因为梅西,而是为了你自己。

    三是构建品牌扩展力。

    迪士尼动画电影《冰雪奇缘》,电影票房收入13亿美元,除此之外,与其相关的衍生产品有700多件,衍生产品的收入早就早过票房收入了。这就是品牌的扩展力。

    扩展力融合了广告、促销、分销、产品延伸、合作伙伴关系,涉及能为你提高知名度、开拓新市场、让你有机会创造普遍认可度的一切因素。

    要开发出行之有效的扩展力,需要解决三个方面的问题:产品与服务延伸、市场营销和分销。但必须注意的是,首先,扩展力必须是在有了瞩目力和持续力之后再开始开发;其实,扩展力一定要和你的经典品牌有强相关性,消费者能用延伸产品中识别出你的原始核心产品或品牌来。
